Hijli Eco Park offers an ideal setting for family and friend get-togethers, boasting beautiful gardens and the 7 Wonders of the World as well as being a convenient picnic location.

This park can be found in the Rajarhat New Town area in Kolkata and serves as one of the nation’s largest Eco Tourism Parks.

1. Ecological Zone

Hijli Eco Park features an ecological zone encompassing interconnected gardens featuring various planting effects, organized around a lake with musical fountains. Furthermore, birds, butterflies, and small mammals also inhabit this park.

Alongside its lush landscape, the park provides numerous attractions that cater to visitors of all ages. These include an exhibit depicting Seven Wonders replica parks, a botanical garden, and a children’s park – as well as restaurants and stalls where visitors can purchase food and beverages.

This park can be found just on the edge of Kharagpur near IIT Kharagpur, easily accessed by either car or bus and provides multiple parking lots for visitors.

2. Theme Gardens

It’s an expansive park full of exciting things to do. A perfect destination for friends and families to visit, it features beautiful sculptures, fountains, and many rides – not forgetting its replicas of the Seven Wonders of the World!

This park is also an excellent destination for nature enthusiasts. Hikers or walkers can explore its trails to appreciate its natural splendor; there are plenty of spots where visitors can sit back and relax.

This park also houses other attractions, including a large enclosure for deer and a water body where boating can occur. Furthermore, you can visit botanical gardens, butterfly gardens, and mask gardens, each offering unique attractions and experiences.

The park is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm. Entry is free, but outside food isn’t permitted inside. Parking spaces can be found throughout the park, bike rentals, and a small restaurant near its entrance. Kharagpur railway station and bus stand can easily be accessed via state highway while it lies close to the IIT campus, making it a perfect escape from urban living.

3. Open Spaces for Recreation

The park offers many opportunities for recreation and picnicking, from strolls and bike rides to enjoying one of its many picnic areas and playgrounds. Hijli society and its neighbors are of particular beauty when fully developed: its Central Nursery would make an exceptional center of recreation and picnics.

Attractions at this park include Seven Wonders of the World, Bangla Gram, Mask Garden, and its vast lake. Food and rides may be more costly; expect to spend at least Rs 150 for a cycle ride plus 30 minutes of food service.

Hijli Eco Park, situated just on the outskirts of Kharagpur city and close to IIT, can be reached easily via bus from Kharagpur Central Bus Stand and railway stations. A state highway runs directly through Hijli Eco Park, providing plenty of parking space for cars and two-wheelers. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (140 km away) serves this region, while Hijli Eco Park boasts connectivity with other major West Bengal cities via rail and road transport networks.

4. Bird Watching

Hijli Eco Park in Paschimpathri, West Bengal, offers one of the finest birding experiences. It is home to an extensive array of birds and boasts a serene ambiance for visitors alike.

To encourage birds to settle here, the management has created mudflats and water bodies equipped with bird boxes, floaters, wooden logs and feeders, grains, seeds, and worms to attract them. This has proven successful; Basu Roy now hosts bird walks two mornings each week all year round for visitors.

The park is situated on the outskirts of Kharagpur near IIT Kharagpur, making it easily accessible via bus from both a railway station and a Central Bus stand. Car and two-wheeler parking facilities are also provided here.

Once completed, this area would make an excellent spot for picnics and recreation – just a short walk from Hijli Rural Hospital!

5. Zorbing

Eco park, situated just on the outskirts of Kharagpur near IIT Kharagpur, is an excellent spot for nature enthusiasts. Boasting a considerable enclosure containing hundreds of spotted deer and an assortment of trees such as Saal, Segun (Tik), Eucalyptus & others – this eco-park makes a beautiful destination.

Zorbing is an enjoyable recreational activity where participants ride an inner tube while experiencing gravity’s rush. Hijli Eco Park provides affordable zorbing experiences for extra fun and a break from daily monotony.

6. Paddle Boating

Paddle boating in the parks offers guests an entertaining way to spend time with friends and family. Paddle boats can be hired at Rs 30 per person for 20 minutes at its jetty near the park’s main gate.

The park’s guests can also indulge in other activities like zorbing, which features one of Kolkata’s most extensive zorbing tracks surrounded by lush vegetation and accommodating up to 150 people at once.

Hijli eco park features an enormous enclosure housing hundreds of spotted deer as a main draw and other species such as Eucalyptus and Saal trees.
