Destiny 2’s Fireteam Finder Makes it Easier to Find Players to Play With

Destiny 2 players know the value of having a full-fire team when participating in certain activities; however, finding compatible teammates online may not always be easy.

Bungie has introduced a fireteam finder feature into the game to simplify this process, beginning with Season 23 in November.

1. Look for a Clan

Destiny 2 makes having a full-fire team both luxurious and essential if you want to undertake certain activities like raids. Unfortunately, finding such a group may prove challenging at times – that’s why clans are available within the game to assist players with seeing each other more easily.

Bungie recently unveiled plans to implement a fireteam finder feature into Season 23 (the final season before The Final Shape comes out), giving players access to search groups in-game rather than through third-party apps or websites.

The new Fireteam Finder works through the clan tab in the companion app and allows users to easily create and join fireteams for various activities, including higher-level Nightfalls and even dungeons. Players can use search tags to locate specific activity groups quickly.

Once a fire team is created, players can communicate between themselves through the in-game chat system. It is essential to keep in mind that should a member leave the group chat, then the entire fireteam will disband, or players can use the community forum’s Clan Recruitment section, which lists several clans seeking recruits.

Clan membership brings many advantages beyond its usual rewards, such as increased returns from public events, weekly contracts with Hawthorne, and reputation rewards from winning Trials together with clanmates; it also can earn clans unique banners that they can display proudly in the social area of their hangout and can earn exclusive rewards from participating in guided games and other activities.

So far, the only way to form a group for any of these activities was via Bungie’s community tools or through Discord servers – while both options offer their own set of advantages, having this feature integrated directly into the game will make things much simpler for players who may not have as many friends with whom to form a group for these activities.

2. Look for Streamers

Before, players looking to run specific activities in Destiny 2 had to ask their friends on social media for teammates or use third-party tools like Fireteam Finder. However, thanks to this new feature, finding teammates for even the most challenging content in the game has never been simpler or faster.

At its recent Destiny 2 Showcase event, Bungie announced that Season 23 in November 2023 will bring both an improved Fireteam Finder and a Power Level-specific dungeon for players looking for teammates of specific Power Level. This latter feature is essential as complex raids such as Vault of Glass or Trials of Osiris can be difficult for low-level teams to manage successfully.

The new Fireteam Finder makes it easy to specify your qualifications and preferences when looking for teammates by searching keywords. If you prefer a casual, fun experience, indicate this when writing your description; conversely, if you are looking for experienced competitors to form a competitive team, you may include this detail in your report.

However, the Fireteam Finder system only works effectively if participants play in the same time zone. Otherwise, your Fireteam Finder could become overrun with players from different regions – which could cause confusion and disagreements among teammates worldwide! For this reason, it is vitally important that your profile and Fireteam Finder settings match.

Fireteam Boost, another exciting new feature, temporarily increases the Power Level of lower-level players in your fireteam to keep them competitive with higher-level ones, thus helping avoid situations where low-level players keep being killed off regularly and cannot progress through gameplay. Remember that this feature may not always be available; be aware that it won’t apply for all activities!

3. Look for Solo Players

A fire team consists of three to six players working together to combat enemies and complete tasks quickly, making the experience of raids or other more demanding activities much smoother. Working as a group allows players to earn more loot and experience. Many players utilize third-party tools or depend on friends/clan mates when looking for fire teams for these activities; however, with Destiny 2’s Fireteam Finder, finding the team needed will be much simpler.

The new tool will enable players to search for teams for any activity within a game that doesn’t utilize matchmaking, with specific criteria such as no microphone requirements and Power level requirements being specified by players themselves. Furthermore, users will have an indicator to indicate whether they prefer playing casually or competitively.

Utilizing this tool will make it simpler for players to quickly find fire teams for strenuous activities and help those with limited game time find groups to join. Furthermore, players will be able to see fire teams of equal level that won’t take too long before joining a raid raiding party.

But players looking to disrupt other fire teams could also misuse this tool. Therefore, players must be wary of toxicity on forums as it could result in an unproductive experience. Ideally, find a group with similar goals who will collaborate well together.

Season 23 will launch in November with all players having access to this feature and an improved Fireteam Finder that can help them locate teams for most activities, except Raid and Grandmaster Nightfalls.

4. Look for a Group

Playing Destiny 2 can be enjoyable, but the experience becomes exponentially better when played as a fire team. While solo play may be possible, this only increases its difficulty and prevents access to some end-game content that would be accessible otherwise. Thanks to Fireteam Finder, finding people to join you in playing has never been more straightforward!

On Destiny 2’s official website, Bungie recently unveiled an LFG-like system, Fireteam Finder, making finding groups for raids and other high-level activities simpler for players.

Fireteam Finder makes finding a group to play with much simpler. Players previously relied on external tools like Discord to locate groups; this process could often prove challenging and had variable results. Fireteam Finder promises a far simpler and improved overall experience for its players.

This new feature allows players to specify their qualifications and team preferences by using keyword tagging of player names, which allows other players to understand exactly what experience you’re searching for and helps find groups with compatible members based on shared goals and preferences. For instance, if you prefer more intense games, you could tag yourself “challenge.”

Currently, most game activities don’t permit matchmaking between players of varying Power levels, meaning those looking to complete more demanding challenges must rely on clan members or third-party tools. But when Season 23 launches in November, this will change. A revamped Fireteam Finder system will be introduced before The Final Shape launch, allowing them to find other fireteams regardless of Power level differences.

At Fireteam Finder’s launch later this summer, players will still have plenty of content to keep them occupied until it arrives. Lightfall expansion will launch alongside Season of Defiance on February 28, and Season of the Deep is anticipated to reach by late May and then, hopefully soon after that, Season 22.
