How to Access Fell Xenologue

6

Wave 4 of Fire Emblem Engage has finally appeared with its latest patch and DLC, Fell Xenologue. However, players may be wondering how they can access it.

DLC will become accessible once players reach a certain point in the primary campaign, and the game should notify players.

The Ancient Well

Fell Xenologue is a new campaign in Fire Emblem Engage that takes place outside the base game world map. Therefore, recruited characters or class levels acquired during your base game journey cannot be used here in this DLC campaign; additionally, this unique approach also has set party levels and equipment.

Alear’s journey in this DLC begins when she is summoned to an alternate reality where Divine and Fell Dragon Sombron have already battled one another and fallen. Unfortunately, an enemy force exists within that realm who wishes to complete what Sombron began and gather the Bracelet of Fate to ruin Elyos completely. Alear agrees to help Nel and Nil protect Elyos, but initially, they experience many misunderstandings before getting on track together successfully.

After watching a cutscene, players will arrive at The Ancient Well. However, unlike its counterpart in Fire Emblem Three Houses, this Ancient Well doesn’t automatically activate upon reaching Chapter 6. To use it properly, speak with Armourer at Training Plaza, who will tell you that some weapons were lost down well; find and return these items, and he’ll activate Ancient Well for use by players at will.

Once activated, you can head onto the world map and complete any paralogue, skirmish, or chapter battle to receive a replacement item. Though random, chances exist of finding high-rated consumables or weapons within it.

Your Ancient Well can provide many potential rewards, which you can see by checking the Upgrade Gauge on-screen. This indicator displays your chances of landing each prize depending on how many items have been tossed into it; increasing this is one way of increasing the likelihood of receiving more desirable ones!

The Somniel

Fire Emblem Engage’s Expansion Pass has added much to the game with its fourth and final wave – including new story, characters, and classes – but players may be wondering how to access Fallen Xenologue to take advantage of its content entirely. Luckily, access is relatively straightforward once players hit certain milestones in their main story – often receiving an in-game alert as soon as they have met certain levels of progress in-game.

Chapter 6 main story-breakers should have no trouble accessing the DLC, though it should be noted that it doesn’t automatically unlock once they reach this point. Instead, players must first head to the Ancient Well and trigger Vander’s cutscene to open it when returning later – this will give players access to DLC as an option when returning later to it.

As with other battles in the DLC, players can fast travel between The Somniel and other regions freely; however, some restrictions do apply – for instance, those inside an exercise must wait until all activities in that area have been completed before leaving it, those going during a workout won’t earn its stat bonus that would have otherwise been made had they completed it thoroughly.

Once players enter Somniel, they can use its map to quickly travel between different areas in the area and collect resources (represented by white pulsing dots on the map) that are scattered throughout it – these resources can then be used at cafes to prepare meals or refine weapons in Plazas; or as gifts between units that help strengthen support levels between teams.

One of the critical tasks at The Somniel is building allies’ support levels – this will give them an advantage in battle and may help them win fights more quickly. Anyone wishing to do so can visit between battles and talk with any allied characters present there.

The Training Plaza

Those familiar with Fire Emblem Engage will likely appreciate Wave 4’s addition, Fell Xenologue DLC. This DLC includes new story and character interactions and unique gameplay elements to add variety to their journey.

The DLC is a standalone campaign that can be taken up at any point after finishing the primary story campaign and unlocking the Ancient Well. Still, players must ensure they are up for the challenge before embarking on this adventure, as the DLC features its own set of difficulty settings that differ from that found within the base game.

When entering a DLC campaign, players should remember that players cannot trade items or switch out units for this game version, nor acquire recruits or emblems to unlock in the main save for DLC use. With one exception – Alear, Nil, and Nel are forced units that may be traded but won’t inherit Skills when sold between saves.

Once players have completed the first chapter of DLC, they can access the Training Plaza by visiting the Ancient Well. This will lead to a cutscene featuring Vander, who offers to train your party in various fields. Furthermore, accessing this area provides two new job classes from Waves 3 and 4, including Mage Cannoneer and Enchanter classes, which were teased earlier.

The Mage Cannoneer is a long-range unit capable of attacking enemies with artillery shells and inflicting adverse effects from a distance. At the same time, Enchanters serve as support classes capable of significantly increasing all weapons of a specific type. This DLC allows players to complete the campaign at any time after finishing chapter one – accessed via the Somniel menu – with three independent difficulty settings that can be toggled at will by visiting its Somniel menu page.

The Well’s Location

Fell Xenologue can only be unlocked through the version 1.3.0 update by opening the Ancient Well, which can be achieved by speaking with Durthon at Chapter 7’s Armory of Somniel and then heading towards it – speaking with Vander at this location should prompt a cutscene where he describes strange happenings around you and then heading directly back out again towards it. Once at this location, there should be a cutscene with Vander explaining something weird is taking place globally.

The DLC begins with a fight against a Fell Dragon, much like other Corrupted enemies found throughout Wave 3. Like its counterparts in Wave 3, however, the Fell Dragon comes equipped with bracelets that allow players to summon previous Fire Emblem heroes like Diamant and Alcryst in battle, as well as an entirely new specialty job class called Mage Cannoneer for artillery-based attacks from a distance.

Fell Xenologue provides players new characters, equipment, and additional rewards through experience points, items, currency, and unique character interactions. Furthermore, all deployed units will have set levels and classes during battles in this DLC that cannot be altered regardless of whether or not they were recruited beforehand, helping streamline combat.

The Xenologue DLC story in Fire Emblem Engage is also unique. It allows players to experience it in Classic mode – contrary to other skirmishes requiring players to complete certain turns before switching modes.

The Xenologue stands apart from previous DLC by offering additional guest deployment slots and those reserved for Alear, Nil, and Nel’s father, Fogado. While guests can earn experience, Bond Levels, and Support Points from their deployment, they won’t gain any Inherited Skills from your living roster. Furthermore, two new specialty job classes will appear: Mage Cannoneer and Enchanter, who can enhance weapons of particular types with more excellent stat bonuses. However, only Enchanter can affect multiple units at once! Finally, when playing Classic mode skirmishes, units will remain safe even from permadeath protection, although in other skirmishes it may not protect units against permadeath protection.
